Patsy Jean Pederson

March 17, 1953 — April 9, 2024

 

Patsy Jean Pederson, age 71, of Bandera, was called back to the Lord peacefully in her home with her loving husband and family by her side on April 9, 2024 after a long battle with melanoma skin cancer.
 
Patsy was born to her late parents Nona Jean Jonas and Leonard Edward Jonas on March 17, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. She was proud to be born on St. Patrick’s Day, as her mother was full Irish Patsy, a true southern belle, moved to Bandera, Texas where she began raising her two beloved sons who she will finally be reunited with: Steward Lord James and Nathaniel David James. After many years working as a waitress at several different establishments within Bandera, she decided to move to Minnesota in 1987 where she met the love of her life, David Pederson. For David and Patsy, it was love at first sight, they have been inseparable ever since. In Davids words, Patsy rescued a lonely man and showed him what it was to truly love and to be loved - “The cowboy and the southern belle” together made a beautiful life. The two married after dating for several years on June 29, 1991, and together they ended up owning and running their own roofing contracting company. Patsy always made many friends everywhere she worked; bringing everyone who crossed her path many smiles, laughs and beautiful memories - she had a truly kind soul, full of love, life, and compassion. There is no question her delicious meals, loving heart and all-around beautiful personality will be missed by all. Patsy was a one-of-a-kind woman; her character and dignity prevailed until the end, even when her health failed her. 
 
Patsy is survived by her husband and love of her life, David Pederson; sister, Laurie Hernandez; brother, Travis Jonas (Catherine); brother, Lonnie Jonas; mother-in-law, Joyce Nanchy; sister-in-law, Peggy Lynn; brother-in-law, John Pederson; step-daughter, Caitlin Vigil; granddaughter, Emma Fankhauser; many other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Patsy in death has been reunited with; her parents, Nona and Leonard Jonas; brother Stevie Jonas; sister, Lenora Mitchell; and her sons, Steward and Nathaniel James.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Bandera Cemetery. There will be a pot luck Celebration of Life immediately following the graveside service at 150 San Antonio St. Bandera, TX 78003. 
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel.
