Patsy Gwen Keelin

March 19, 1934 — January 10, 2024

Patsy Gwen (Woodward) Keelin, of Utopia, TX, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, at her home.  She was born in Houston, TX, to Herbert and Ouida Woodward on March 19, 1934.  She married George E. Keelin, Jr. on September 20, 1952, in Houston.  They were married for 68 years.

 

She graduated from Reagan High School in 1952, where she had played in the Redcoats band.  For her whole life, she worked as a church or office secretary, retiring from the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant near Phoenix, AZ.  She was proud to be a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas.  She was a Christian from early in life, and was known for her sweet and kind disposition and putting others first.  Patsy served faithfully beside her husband as a preacher's wife for many years.  Together, they touched many lives in Phoenix, Denver, San Manuel (AZ), Lake Havasu City (AZ), San Antonio, and Utopia.  She was a loving mom and grandma with a profound influence on her family.

 

Patsy is preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, and brother Wayne Woodward.

 

She is survived by two sons, George H. (Tammy), and Michael (Sheila) Keelin, and a daughter, Karen (Roger) Pritchett; 6 grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Looper, David (Erynn) Pritchett, Kristy (Blake) Beamon, Julie (Regie) Longoria, Sarah Skaggs, and Hannah Keelin; and 6 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Looper, Cole and Ty Beamon, Sabian Skaggs, and Tegan Smith-Pritchett, and a large extended family.

 

Visitation will be at 11:00 AM on January 20 at the Utopia Church of Christ.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Robert Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Waresville Cemetery.

 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel.
