Patricia Thornblom

Patricia Jones Thornblom, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on June 5, 2019 just shy of her 87th birthday. Born in Terrell, Texas to Carl Freeman and Lucille Hopkins Freeman on June 23, 1932, she spent her childhood in Terrell and Longview. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Roy Neal Jones, for 25 years. Pat was a mother, homemaker, nurse, and helpmate to her husband in whatever he did; from building a house, to starting a small business, to riding motorcycles. After his death, she moved to the Highland Lakes region, where she was a realtor, and met and married Carlton C. Thornblom. "Grammy" enjoyed a season of hosting numerous grandchildren at their home on Lake LBJ and traveling the world. Upon Carlton's passing, she lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico for several years before settling in Kerrville in 2001. \r\n\r\nAt the age of 70, she conquered the feat of building a home in the Horizon which she relished for 10 wonderful years. She faithfully volunteered at the Museum of Western Art, the food pantry at Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM), and the Cottage Shop, along with attending her beloved St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Pat consistently lived frugally in order to give generously. She brightened Kerrville with her encouraging and gregarious nature. As her health declined, she lived in a cottage in the woods next to her daughter and family, where she enjoyed her top passions: reading and spoiling her favorite furry companion, Lexie. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her son, Gary Wayne Jones and wife Debbie of Seabrook; daughter, Carey Elaine Thompson and husband Mickey of Kerrville; stepson, Doug Thornblom and wife Debbie of Florida; stepdaughter, Peg Campbell and husband Ken of Cypress; brother-in-law, Fred Jones of Spring; grandchildren, Matt Jones, Mike Jones, Christy Thompson, Tyler Thompson, and Ryan Thompson; great grandsons, Caleb Jones and Blake Jones; along with many loved extended family.\r\n\r\nDoctors and staff at Peterson Regional, Peterson Hospice, and River Hills Rehab cared for her and loved her through her last days. Every person that came into contact with Pat, whether it be for a moment, a day, or a lifetime, was truly enriched by her love and presence. Her smile captivated your heart. \r\n\r\nA private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freeman Fritts Animal Shelter or Kerr County Christian Assistance Ministry.
