Orland L."Lee" Hartmann, 77, was born February 14, 1939, in Winner, SD, the 5th of 7 children of Christian L. (Pudge) Hartmann and Leona S. (Knittel) Hartmann of Mission, SD. He passed away July 6, 2016 in Kerrville, TX.\r\n \r\nLee is survived by his wife Margaret (Margy) of Gower, MO; by sons Bryan Hartmann (Janet) of Valentine, NE, and Steven Emery of Pierre, SD; by daughter Judy Hartmann of Scottsbluff, NE; and by five grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Melvin Hartman of Kilgore, NE; by sisters Darlene Barry of Rapid City, SD, and Lois Hartmann of Black Hawk, SD; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother (Lowell) and by two sisters (Bernice and Mary Jean).\r\n \r\nLee served in the US Navy from January 1958 until May of 1970. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1999. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of the Disabled American Veterans; and a member of the American Legion.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be Sunday, July 10 from 4-6 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. Services will Monday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Ev. Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, TX.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church building fund.\r\n
