Oralia Santos

On Monday, April 12, 2021, Oralia "Gooma" Santos, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 89. Oralia was born Aug. 6, 1931 at La Reforma in San Isidro, Texas to her father, Eliseo Guerra and her mother, Crisanta Barrera Guerra. She is one of 10 children. Her love of cooking and baking made her famous around Kerrville. She was the rock of the family. On March 4,1956, Oralia married the love of her life, Jose Santos Jr. They raised three children in Kerrville, Texas. Oralia is survived by her husband, Jose Santos Jr.; daughter, Sylvia Santos; son, Sam Santos; grandson, Christopher Santos McCullom; great-grandson, Carson McCullom; granddaughter, Emily Nicole Santos; son, Saul Santos (wife Cindy del Castillo Santos, grandsons Brandon and Jason Gallardo); Joe Santos Jr. III; sister, Viola Guerra Sunderland; and brother, Noe Guerra. Oralia went to Valley Grande Academy in Weslaco, Texas. After graduation, she moved to Kerrville, Texas where she worked for the Legion Annex TB Hospital, then transferred to Kerrville State Hospital where she worked as nursing assistant, shift supervisor, and time keeper for 35 years. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, April 16, 2021at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Andy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery on Town Creek Road. Pallbearers will be Jason Gallardo, Hector (Puffy) Cantu, Tyler Cantu, Dan Guerra, Chase Logue, and Tyler Logue. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many wonderful nurses, CNA'S, and workers at Hilltop Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Peterson Hospice.
