Norma Morris

Norma J. Morris passed away on July 31, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born in Winnsboro, Texas to Walter and Leona Gearner on February 15, 1925 where she was raised and later moved to Houston, Texas, where she lived for most of her life.\r\n\r\nShe worked as a pharmaceutical assistant in Houston for over 40 years. She moved to Medina, Texas in 2003 where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Norma was an avid hand quilter and quilted for people all over the world. She made many charitable contributions with her quilting including a quilt she made for the Houston Astros that raised over $10,000 for children with cancer. She received a letter of appreciation from Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson for her contributions to many people in need including many baby quilts that were given to the hospitals for children born without families. She loved to read her Bible and did so daily. Her sense of humor and wit will be remembered by many.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by 3 husbands; 6 brothers and sisters; son, Larry Cater. She is survived by her daughter, Debby Upchurch of Medina; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren of Houston along with her loving friend and companion Ken Upchurch of Medina.\r\n\r\nMemorial and funeral arrangements will be held in Winnsboro, Texas and will be scheduled at a later date.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
