Nestor Chavez

Nestor S. Chavez, age 68, of San Antonio and Pipe Creek, passed away on April 29, 2016 in San Antonio, TX after a long battle with cancer. He was born in San Antonio, TX to Margarito B. Chavez and Dominga Senac on February 26, 1948. He married Janet Blackmon in Bexar County in 1982. Nestor grew up and attended school on the south side of San Antonio and graduated from community college with two degrees. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving from 1966-1969, and worked for the VA Hospital, Audie Murphy, for more than 20 years, transporting veterans.\r\n\r\nNestor is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Chavez; father, Margarito; brother, John Chavez.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his mother, Dominga; children, Nestor and Andrea; sister, Margie; brothers, Frank and David; grandson, Camrin Jinx, and many other family members.\r\n\r\nA memorial service will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera, TX, on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at 2pm, Eric D. Carter, officiating. Burial will follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery.
