Neita Collins, born Feb. 24, 1930, in Groves, Texas, died Sept. 18, 2017, at home in Medina surrounded by her family and her beloved caregivers. \r\n \r\nPreceded in death by her father, John T. Stewart, mother, Majie Upton, stepfather Verlin Upton, husband, Col. Fred G. Collins, son, Johnny Watson, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Watson, and former husband, John Watson. \r\n \r\nSurvived by her sons Tony (Marilyn) Watson of Medina, daughter-in-law Linda Watson of Minneapolis, Christopher (Cindy) Watson of Minneapolis, Mark (Maria) Watson of Houston, and former daughter-in-law Patty Watson of Minneapolis. Also survived by her brother, Jerry (Carol) Stewart of Pensacola, Florida, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and lifetime friend Jean Norrbom of Minneapolis.\r\n \r\nActive in various Methodist churches, Neita was also a Lifetime Member of the Kerrville Order of the Eastern Star.\r\n \r\nNeita was a military spouse, civil servant, businesswoman and mother. \r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 11 AM, Monday, September 25, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Neita's cousin, James Doyle Palmer, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, Rusk, Texas, will be officiating at the service. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to thank Peterson Hospice and United Angel for the loving care they provided to Neita over the past several months. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations to the Medina United Methodist Church are encouraged.\r\n
