Nathan Thomas Folwell IV, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 in Kerrville, Texas. Born February 28, 1934, to Nathan Thomas Folwell Jr. and Elizabeth Miller Follwell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Educated at Lower Merion High School and Penn State, Folwell joined the Air Force and spent 12 years as a pilot serving in Korea, Bermuda and various stations around the United States. He spent his civilian career as a Captain for United Airlines, flying domestic and international flights.\r\n \r\nHe leaves behind his wife, Julianne L. Folwell; two children, Thomas William Folwell of Anaheim, California, and Elizabeth Folwell Scheitler of Aurora, Colorado; two grandchildren, Clinton John Scheitler of Denver, Colorado, and Vincent Bruno Scheitler, Aurora; great-grandson, Carter Allen Scheitler; an aunt, Anne Folwell Hart of Cambridge, Maryland; and cousins, Barbe Ballard Breylinger of Big Fork, Montana, Allen Ballard of Center Harbor, New Hampshire, Robert Folwell of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, and Sue Folwell Ward of Severn, Maryland.\r\n \r\nFolwell was descended from an old Quaker family that arrived from England to the colonies in 1673 and settled in Burlington, New Jersey. Later, the Folwell family started the Folwell Brothers mills, woolen mills located in the Philadelphia area and whose products were sold worldwide.\r\n \r\nFolwell will be cremated and buried in the Folwell family plot in the New London Presbyterian Church in New London, Pennsylvania. \r\n
