Nancy Ann Priour Hopkins, 58, of Center Point, TX, was welcomed home to our Lord on November 4, 2018. She was born in Kerrville, TX, on May 24, 1960, to Dale and Edna Priour of Ingram, TX. She married Wesley Hopkins on September 15, 2003.\r\n\r\nNancy graduated from Tivy High School in 1978. She then graduated cum laude from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, with a major in physical education and a minor in biology. She completed her Masters Degree in Education from Texas State in 1987. Nancy worked as a recreational counselor during the 1980s at Hill Country Youth Ranch, returning to help when she could with recreational and therapeutic programs until the birth of her son Kayleb in 1994.\r\n\r\nNancy was an avid runner. She ran track in high school, and loved to take part in 10K runs wherever she lived. In 1980, she won first place in the Round Rock, TX, 10K run, finishing in record time. She was remembered fondly by many friends and neighbors as "the runner". Nancy loved the outdoors, spending lots of time with her son and family on the Priour Ranch in Mountain Home, TX. She loved animals, and always had a dog or two to keep her company. Nancy was beloved by all who knew her. She was known for her gentle and welcoming nature, her sweet spirit and her helpful disposition. She never judged or said anything bad about anyone, and she worked constantly to accept life as it came her way. She was kind and gentle and served others with joy. She genuinely cared about those around her, and no task was beneath her when it came to helping. She was a woman of her word. She gave her best at all times. She was known for her integrity and candor.\r\n\r\nNancy is preceded in death by her parents Dale and Edna Real Priour.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her husband, Wesley Hopkins, and her son Kayleb Priour, by her sister Dalene Priour Taylor and brothers Gary and Lary Priour. Pallbearers will include Michael Priour, Travis Priour, David Priour, Jacob Phelps, William Hopkins and Charles Holt.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nServices will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Monday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m., with Jonah Priour presiding. Interment will follow at the Center Point Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram, TX.\r\n\r\n
