Mildred Bausch Obituary\r\n\r\nMildred Ruth Bausch passed away peacefully on April 1, 2018. She was born to Alfred and Helen Habenicht on March 9, 1924. \r\n\r\nShe lived her entire life in the house where she was born. She was the youngest of five siblings. She attended school in Bandera and graduated from Bandera High School in 1942. She was a member of the Bandera United Methodist Church. She loved Bandera and the people in it.\r\n \r\nMildred married Hugo Bausch, another lifelong resident of Bandera, on January 2, 1943. They worked together on the farm and volunteered many hours in the Bandera schools.\r\n \r\nMildred is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Hugo, and son Larry.\r\n \r\n\r\nMildred enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren, gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables that she raised. She loved family events and her favorite activity was being with her family. She was an avid "chef" and would prepare enormous meals for family gatherings. Her grandchildren especially loved her lavishly decorated sugar cookies that were made for special occasions.\r\n \r\nMildred is survived by her daughter Linda Hunter, son Walter Bausch and wife Linda, son Alfred Bausch and wife Bonnie; grandchildren David Hunter, Guy Hunter and wife Amy, April Hunter Kleypas and husband Jason, Todd Bausch and wife Amy, Carrie Bausch Phillips and husband Brad, Shena Bausch Miller and husband Rusty, Brenton Bausch and wife Karri, and Colton Bausch. She has 11 great grandchildren: Katelynne Hunter, Elijah and Lucie Phillips, Bailey Nobles, Ripkin Miller, Bodie and Zoey Kleypas, Connor and Charley Sue Bausch, Hayden and Harlow Bausch. Also she leaves behind her sister-in-law and longtime best friend Irene Stieler , numerous nieces and nephews, close neighbors, and many dear friends.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be Thursday, April 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. Funeral services will be held Friday April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Bandera United Methodist Church.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be David Hunter, Guy Hunter, Todd Bausch, Brenton Bausch, Colton Bausch, Jason Kleypas, Brad Phillips, and Rusty Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Kirk Grimes, Tom Doebbler, Wade Moffett, and Billy Jennings.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, the Bandera United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice,\r\n \r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.\r\n
