Michael Kennedy

Michael Kennedy passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 in a San Antonio hospital. He was 78 years old.\r\n\r\nMike was born April 17, 1941 in San Angelo, Texas to Opal Leigh Miller Kennedy and Lewis Dewayne Kennedy. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was proud of his military service. On September 14, 1968 Mike was united in marriage to Karen Kay Tipton in Bandera, Texas.\r\n\r\nMike was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister Martha Cloy; his youngest sister Elaine Kennedy; his older brother Keith Kennedy; and his wife Karen. Survivors include his daughters Kathryn Ann Kennedy Sprute and husband Mike and Allison Kay Kennedy; son Thomas Kye Kennedy and wife Rebecca; sisters Patty Hayes and Jane Gentz; 8 grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14th from 4 - 6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.\r\n\r\nA service will take place on Sunday, December 15th at 1:00 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Pastor Frankie Enloe officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Bandera Cemetery with military honors and under the auspices of Bandera Lodge No. 1123 AF & AM.\r\n\r\nThose who desire may make a memorial gift to Big Hill Cemetery Association, 110 Leslie, Groesbeck, TX 76642 or to the Bandera Lodge No. 1123 AF & AM.
