Michael Green

Michael Edward Green, age 68 of Kerrville, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 in a local hospital. He was born on February 3, 1950 to Levy Winifred Green and Thelma M. (Spriggs) Green in Refugio County, Texas.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from Refugio High School in 1968 and attended Bee County College prior to enlisting in the US Army to serve our country during the Vietnam War.\r\n\r\nHe was united in marriage to Miss Vera Nesby on June 3, 1970 in Kerrville.\r\n\r\nHe accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Refugio and was baptized by the late Dr. G.T. McBeth.\r\n \r\nMichael will be remembered for his jovial, playful attitude, his loving and caring personality and his gift of cooking. He was the well-loved cook at the Veteran's Hospital in Kerrville, and retired from this position after 30 years of service. He shared his culinary arts throughout the community, cooking delicious foods for many events.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Levy Green; and one sister, Judy Brown.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his loving wife, Vera of Kerrville; one daughter, Aretha Adamson of Kerrville; two grandsons, Charlton Adamson and Adrian Cervantes, both of Kerrville; two sisters, Lois Shaw of Kerrville and Edith Fox of Refugio; two brothers, Billy Ray Green of Refugio and Rev. Ronald Green of Victoria, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends. \r\n\r\nServices will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Ronald Green. Burial will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.\r\n\r\n
