Michael Guy Goodale, 74, of Bandera, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 26, at his home in Bandera. He was born in Fredericksburg, Texas, on Dec. 11, 1942, to Frank Oswayne and Odessa Lolite (Bird) Goodale.\r\n\r\nAs a young man, Michael worked for many years as an accountant for the Aldridge Nursery in Von Ormy, Texas. He served four years in Vietnam with CIA intelligence and communications.\r\nOn Jan. 3, 1988, he married Mary Marguerite Suddarth. Together, they operated her carriage service, Pride of Kansas City, in Kansas City, Missouri, for a total of 24-plus years.\r\nOn March 3, 2003, Michael and Mary aquired the house on the original Doane ranch and made Bandera their home. \r\nMichael was a gracious, giving man with a kind heart and a good word to say about everyone. He and his wife were awaiting publication of a book entitled "Heavenly Horseman," about the healing miracles of God witnesses by their experiences. He lived out his life in the house on the hill with his loving wife.\r\n\r\nMichael is survived by his wife, Mary Marguerite (Suddarth) Goodale; his daughter, Cherrie Mae Kimbrell and husband Jim of Bandera; a son, Dwain Howard Greene, of Bandera; a brother, Frank Oswayne Goodale II, of San Antonio; and three grandchildren, Jesse Justin Critten, James Howard Greene and Hadley Marie Greene.\r\n\r\nMichael was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Gay Gloria Smith.\r\n\r\nA Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.\r\n\r\nA Funeral will be held 12:00 Pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Christian World Worship, 6633 Walzem Road, in San Antonio.\r\n\r\nA Graveside will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.\r\n
