Maxine Owens

May 17, 1950 — November 15, 2014

Maxine Owens, age 64 of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 in a local hospital. Maxine was the second child from the union of Herman Lewis Mills and Irene Wiseman Mills. The first born was Orene Mills who was the first child to pass on. Maxine was the second born. Herman Lewis Mills, Jr. passed away in California. Herman L. Mills, Sr. passed away just a few years ago. Irene W. Mills passed away this past August. Maxine was very devoted to her mother.\r\n \r\nAt the age of 18, Maxine moved to San Antonio and stayed there for a few months, only to move back to Kerrville and then moved to Austin. She married twice while in Austin. The second marriage in Austin gave her a daughter, Shondra, and a granddaughter, Kiera. Years later, she was reunited with her first boyfriend, Robert L. Owens in Kerrville. They dated for over two years. They were married on December 1, 2006 in Austin. She moved to Kerrville after she retired from working at the Austin State School. Maxine was a devoted mother to a lovely, young lady named Shondra and her daughter, Kiera who became like a daughter to Robert. This was a happy marriage and lasted until Maxine's death. The love is still there. Robert had a family with seven children he cares very much for; Carmen, who he loves and her four children; Janell and her two children; DeNita and her two children; Robert and his wife and son; Christ and her three children; Shannon and his three children; Adrian, his wife and his two daughters; and can't forget Tonya who is Shondra's sister and is very dear to me. This family will stay together no matter what.\r\n \r\nThanks to all who paid their respect to the Owens family. May God bless all who came and all who thought about us. - Love, The Owens Family\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Friday, November 21, 2014, 10 AM at Mt.
