Maxine DuBose McCulloch, age 87, of Bandera, Texas passed away on February 7, 2015, in her home in Bandera. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Preston and Millie DuBose on February 1, 1928. She married Joe McCulloch on June 11, 1945 in Bexar County.\r\n\r\nShe owned and operated a barber shop in downtown San Antonio for many years. She later owned and operated a trucking business in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for many years. She was a woman of many talents who enjoyed working in her yard and had the greenest thumb around. She was a self-taught artist, seamstress, and interior decorator; she could make anything look beautiful. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bandera, Texas; being a Christian was one of the most important things in her life and she tried to teach as many people as she could. For all that knew her she was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D McCulloch, her parents, Preston DuBose and Millie Mae DuBose, her brothers Warren and David DuBose and sisters Shirley DuBose and Carolyn Smith, and her grandchildren Mendy Postert, Christy Rills, and Jason Boone.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her 6 children: Beverly Boone and her husband Brent, Randy McCaskill, Gene McCulloch, Lou McCulloch and his wife Linda, Shelly Richards and her husband Buddie, and Joe McCulloch and his wife Pam, her brothers Nick and Biddy DuBose and his wife Gina, her sister DeeAnn Elliott, 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandaughter, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her church family.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, Texas. Martin Smith from the Bandera Church of Christ will be officiating.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Shane Boone, Carey Boone, Tracy Boone, Yancey Rills, Jason McCulloch, Jeremy McCulloch, Shaun McCulloch, Tyler McCulloch, and Colton McCulloch.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend their thanks to all of the wonderful physicians, nurses, and the hospice group who cared for our beloved mother. The family would also like to thank all of the wonderful friends who supported the family with prayers, calls, visits, flowers, and food.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
