Mavis Wallk died Friday, June 2, 2017. Born in Dallas, TX, April 4, 1936, she was the second daughter of three born to John Leo and Zella (Chandley) Montgomery.\r\n\r\n She grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from North Side High School. She received her BS from Texas Woman's University and her Masters from the University of Texas at Dallas. She taught the 5th grade for 27 years at Forestridge Elementary in the Richardson ISD and two years at Notre Dame in Kerrville. Her love and her passion was teaching children and inspiring their interest in learning. She was selected as Who's Who Among America's Teachers. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hal; her two children, Mitchell and Cheryl; and her parents, Leo and Zella Montgomery. She is survived by her precious granddaughter, Sasha Nicole; and two sisters, Wynola Nelson of Fort Worth and Rozella Montgomery of Topeka, KS. \r\n\r\nServices will be held 4PM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to Kathleen C.
