Matthew Neel

Matthew Dillon Neel, age 16, passed away on June 13, 2020 in Ingram, Texas. He was born in Crockett, Texas to Suzanne Neel Riddle on November 22, 2003.\r\n\r\nMatthew attended Texas Online Preparatory School (TOPS) where he just completed his sophomore year. He received many praises from his teachers for working hard and making high grades. His heart was into music - rap music to be exact. He is also known by his artist names RIOT and Matthew Music. He wrote songs about people and things near and dear to his heart, including his beloved Pops, who passed away almost a year ago. He was an active member of Impact Christian Fellowship youth group in Kerrville, and had planned to attend his first missions trip with the group before COVID-19 interfered, and the trip was postponed.\r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Grace Gillen, and his grandfather, Robert Neel whom Matthew loved very deeply.\r\n\r\nMatthew is survived by his parents, Suzanne and Morris Riddle; brother, Zachary Neel and fiancée, Hailey; grandmother, Gloria Neel; great-grandparents, E.B. Gillen, and A.C. and Mary Neel. Aunts and uncles include Jason and Rebecca Neel, Rebecca Gillen, Raymond and Elaine Gillen, Ruth and Dean Remmers, Kevin and Becky Harrison, Calvin and Cynthia Neel, as well as cousins and friends.\r\n\r\nFamily will receive friends Friday, June 19th 6-8pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10am Saturday, June 20th with Youth Pastor Garrett Whitten and Senior Pastor David Danielson officiating. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery in Ingram, Texas.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Zachary Neel, Clayton Gillen, Riley Neel, Jonathan Castillo, Julianna Harrison, and Brandon Toll.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made through a Go Fund Me Memorial Fund at http://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-matthew-dillon-neel.
