Mary Youngblood

April 7, 1924 — July 1, 2019

Mary Mozelle Rogers Youngblood was born at home in Granger, TX on April 7, 1924 to Eula and Bethel Rogers. Mozelle, or "Moe", passed away at the home of her daughter on July 1, 2019.\r\n\r\nMoe is survived by a son, Michael Roger Youngblood of Thatcher, Arizona and a daughter, Jan Ellen Youngblood, of Mountain Home, TX. She had five grandchildren, Tricia Nell (deceased), Mary Ellen, Michael Lindsey Everett, Roger Colin and Ryan Paul Youngblood. Her one precious great granddaughter, Josephine Zola Youngblood, was born March 15, 2019 to Michael and Kristin Youngblood, of Austin, Texas. \r\n\r\nHer devoted husband of 60 years, Lindsey Searcy Youngblood, passed away on April 13, 2007. Mozelle lost some of her spunk with his passing. \r\n\r\nMozelle was the youngest of five children and the last of her generation. Moe was fiercely competitive and had a wry sense of humor. She was an accomplished golfer, winning many golf championships in the Scottsdale area. Moe volunteered at Christian Assistance Ministry and Hospice for years. She faithfully attended First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville until she was physically unable to do so.\r\n\r\nIn her younger years, Moe was known for her sassy attitude. She was fun to be around and always had something sarcastic to say. Near the end of her life, she would occasionally deliver a "zinger", apparently to demonstrate she still had a sense of humor. She will be missed.\r\n\r\nMary Mozelle moved to her daughter's ranch in February of 2019. She became fascinated with the wildlife and the herd of horses and longhorns there. In lieu of flowers, Moe asked that donations be made to the Last Dance Ranch rescue and sanctuary that her daughter, Jan, runs. Last Dance is a non-profit concern that saves horses previously bound for slaughter.\r\n\r\nThere will be a private graveside service.
