Mary Vargas

Mary Sanchez Vargas of Kerrville, TX, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Kerrville. She was born on September 14, 1933 in Kerrville to Jose and Augustina Sanchez. She married the love of her life, Pedro Vargas, on February 22, 1948 in Kerrville. \r\n \r\nMary worked at the Kerrville State Hospital for 10 years, and for Mooney Aircraft for 5 years. She then went to work for James Avery and retired from there after 36 years of employment.\r\n \r\nShe was an active member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and was involved in many organizations, such as: The Guadalupanas Society, Women of Notre Dame, hospitality, bereavement and ACTS.\r\n \r\nMary is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Augustina Sanchez; brothers, Jesse, Luis and Camillo Sanchez; children, Pedro, Emilio and Selsa Vargas.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include husband, Pedro Vargas; children, Molly Alvarado, Robert Vargas and wife, Lela, Kathy Villarreal and husband, Marcus and Debbie Quientero and husband, Jim; sisters, Paula Villarreal and Rebecca Gantt; grandchildren, Cindy Villarreal, Frank Collazo, Tony Alvarado, Nina Payne, Eric Vargas, Joseph Vargas, and Jacob Quientero; great grandchildren, Mario, Marcus, Alan, Stephanie, Devin, Connor, Amber, Donovan, Reeves, Chase, Sierra, Savannah, Felicia, Julian; and great-great-grandson Luke Allen Villarreal.\r\n \r\nRosary will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015, 6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Deacon Jimmy Bill.\r\n \r\nMass will be Monday, May 4, 2015, 2 PM at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Monsignor Mike Boulette as celebrant.
