Mary Lou Barnes Sherer of Lakehills, TX, went to be with theLord, November 12, 2015, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 14 days.Mary Lou was born May 28, 1925 in San Antonio, Bexar County,Texas. \r\n\r\nFollowing her graduation from McAllen High School, Mary Lou was employed by Rio Grande Valley Citrus Association and Grace Christian School in Pharr, Texas.\r\n\r\nOn December 15, 1946, Lou married Albert F. Sherer, Jr., in San Juan, Texas. The couple resided in the Rio Grande Valley until moving to Lakehills in 1985.\r\n\r\nMary Lou was a member of Pipe Creek Baptist Church. An accomplished musician, she served the Lord as church organist for 20 years. A second generation artist, she loved oil painting, as well as china painting.\r\n\r\nMary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, and grandson, Christopher Winfield of Bandera.\r\n\r\nMary Lou is survived by daughters; Sue Sherer of Bandera, TX; Connie Sherer of Lakehills; Debbie Sherer of Lakehills; Shelly Sherer Fair and husband, Jimmy Fair, of Stephenville, TX; Georgia Tsatsou of Athens, Greece; nine grandchildren;sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and nephew, Donald L.Sherer and wife, Karen Sherer and family of Rockwall, Texas.\r\n\r\nViewing will be Friday, November 13, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grimes Chapel of Bandera.\r\n\r\nGraveside service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015, 11:00 AM at the Pipe Creek Cemetery with Pastor Wally Morillo officiating.\r\n
