Mary L. Meadows passed away Friday, October 21, 2016. Born July 10, 1929 to Montieth Talmadge Lincecum and Lois Roberts Lincecum in Vernon, Texas, a descendent of both Gideon Lincecum and John Clarke Roberts, Mary was raised initially in Vernon, Texas and then Altus, Oklahoma.\r\n\r\nThough she spent most of her life in Texas, Mary would always break out singing Boomer Sooner whenever the OU Sooners were on the football field. Mary attended college at OU and after an extended break graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in history. Mary married Thomas B. Meadows Jr. on October 21, 1953 embarking on a life spent raising two sons, many moves and extensive international travel. Mary enjoyed playing the piano, cooking and golf. Mary and Tom were championship duplicate bridge players. Moving to Kerrville in 1989 after Tom's retirement, they spent many years continuing to travel and playing golf.\r\n\r\nMary is predeceased by her parents and a brother Monte Jr. who died on Iwo Jima, February 28, 1945, during WW2. Mary was also predeceased by Tom after 59 years of marriage in 2012. Mary is survived by her brother Roberts Lincecum and wife Nelda of Houston Texas; son Robert L. Meadows and wife Monica of Austin, Texas; son Thomas B. Meadows III and wife Pat of Midland, Texas; and granddaughters Melynda Weaver and husband Kyle of Tacoma, Washington; PJ Meadows of New York, New York; and Mary Lynn Meadows of Houston, Texas; and great granddaughters Avery Hope Weaver and Margo Elizabeth Weaver and great grandson Colin Gary Weaver of Tacoma, Washington.\r\n\r\nThe Meadows family would like to thank Mary's and Tom's caregivers, Christine Rodriquez, Lupe Silva, Susan Rodriguez, and Edna Arreola, for their many years of devoted service under sometimes trying circumstances. Thanks also to Peterson Hospice for their time and attention and to Dietert Center. Many thanks to Dr. James A. Young, their physician of many years.\r\n\r\nI have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have keep the faith\r\n2 Timothy 4:7-8\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville officiated by Pastor Donna Magee.
