Mary Ellyn Luedtke, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on June 17, 2015. She was born to Myrtle and Howard Rose on June 23, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. She married the love her of life, Robert Luedtke, shortly after he returned from the war on December 15, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois and celebrated 69 happy years together.\r\n \r\nHer main focus throughout her life was to be a loving wife, wonderful mother, and meticulous homemaker. She also worked outside the home for twelve years at Illinois Bell Telephone Company as an executive secretary. \r\n \r\nMary and Robert retired to Kerrville in 1978. During this time she enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and many leisure time activities. Some of her favorites included bowling, sewing, baking, bunco, writing limericks, doing crossword puzzles, following the Dallas Cowboys, college football, and tuning in weekly to the Lawrence Welk Show. \r\n \r\nMary was very proud of her family and the accomplishments in their personal, educational, and professional endeavors. Throughout her life's challenges and health issues she remained remarkably resilient and steadfast in her Christian faith. Now that she is peacefully at home with her Maker, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. \r\n \r\nMary is survived by her spouse, Robert Luedtke, and their daughters Kathleen Ellis of Springfield, Illinois, Laura Price Luedtke of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Wendy and husband, David Lehmann of Kerrville, Texas, grandchildren Kristen and husband, Stan Rupnik of Springfield, Illinois, William and wife, Julia Price of Houston, Texas, Gene and wife, Brittany Lehmann of New Braunfels, Texas, Geoffrey Price of Dallas Texas, Darby and husband, Tyler Campbell of Kerrville, Texas and Corey Lehmann of Austin, Texas, great-grandchildren Meghan Rupnik, Anne Rupnik, and Simon Price.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peterson Hospice of Kerrville, Texas. \r\n \r\nThe family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the devoted and compassionate caregivers who brought comfort, joy, and companionship to Mary.
