Mary Imogene Knoy, age 87 of Kerrville, took her place with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Kerrville. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Angelina County, Texas, to James Curtis and Gracie Lee Bass Harrison. On October 25, 1987, she married Willie Eugene Knoy in Houston. \r\n \r\nJean worked for the Texas State Highways and Public Transportation and was instrumental in the purchase of property for Beltway 8. She later worked as an Associate Realtor while living in Houston. \r\n \r\nJean's passion and expertise was working with and growing a variety of plants and flowers. She could name them all. She mostly loved traveling and could describe the places she had visited with great enthusiasm and eloquence. Her heart was big as a mountain; rescuing wounded birds, nursing them back to health and naming each and every one of them.\r\n \r\nShe was a dignified and devoted woman after God's own heart; a wife, mother and grandmother to four generations to follow. Known by her grandchildren as Bumpa, she was loved and heralded by each of them with great regard and reverence. \r\n \r\nAlways loving to be in the company of her family and friends, Jean never turned down an invitation to an outing for barbeques, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Even if she didn't feel well, just to be with her children and grandchildren. A joy to share a room with, her laughter was infectious.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her husband, Willie Knoy of Kerrville; daughter, Jeannie Lynn Stevens and husband Lance; son, Jerry Glenn Johnson of Huntsville; sisters, Billie Radcliffe, Darlene Knight, and Sandra Cryer; brother, Don Curtis Harrison and wife Mary; grandchildren, Jerry Johnson, Jr., Ginger Racquel Reasner, Billy Don Richardson, Jr., April Jeannine Jones, and Heather Rachel Likin; great-grandchildren, Andrew Mitchell Moffitt, Taylor Hannah Anderson, Jeannie Marie Moffitt, Jonathan Carl Jones, Jordan Ray Richardson, Kaley April Jones, Landon Cole Likin and Addyson Kate Likin; and great great-granddaughter, Lillian Rae Moffitt. \r\n \r\nThe family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, from 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 10:30 AM at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville with Rev. Max Perez officiating. \r\n \r\nThe family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of one's choice and/or the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville. \r\n
