Mary Hyde

Mary Elizabeth Hyde, 81, of Bandera, passed away on December 12, 2015 in San Antonio. She was born San Antonio, Texas to Ruby Williams and Birdwell (Burt) Ferguson on November 3, 1934.\r\n\r\nThey moved to Utopia where she attended school. She worked at the cafe and telephone company where she met, then married, John Wesley Schaefer in 1951. They had two children, Shirlene and John. They were together 4 years before he was killed in an auto accident. Two years later she met, then married Sherrill Schaefer of Bandera. They had two children, Sherwin and Lana. They were together 9 years. She then married Warren Hyde of Bandera, who had a daughter, Doris Nell by a previous marriage.\r\n\r\nShe is preceded in death by Warren, Sherwin, John, Kathy and Jennifer.\r\n\r\nMary is survived by her children, Shirlene and husband, Mike Appelt, Lana and her husband Nick Zuehl and Doris Wilson. Grandchildren are Jake, Kayla and husband, Ricky Sparks, Nikki Gillespie, Cody Schaefer, Justin and wife, Amber Schaefer, Howard Wilson, Sandi Wilson, Jennifer Bunch. Great grandchildren are Kinsley Appelt, Joshua Gillespie and Jackie Gillespie, Bethany Schaefer, Carly Schaefer, Jessica Schaefer, Cabela Schaefer, Gabriela Wilson, Genevive Wilson, Mason Bunch and Levi Bunch. There is only (1) great great grandchild, Aztrid Schaefer.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 17, at Grimes Chapel of Bandera with Mr. Martin Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bandera Cemetery.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Mike Appelt, Jake Appelt and Ricky Sparks.
