Mary Jane Epperson Glasscock passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was born April 18, 1924 in Rocksprings, Texas and was a life-long resident and member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Glasscock was one of the last surviving grandchildren of early Edwards County settlers Sam A. and Jane Brown Epperson.\r\n\r\nMary Jane studied Art at Trinity University and the University of Texas at Austin. She was a rancher and served twenty years as the Secretary-Treasurer of the American Angora Goat Breeders. She was a member of the DAR and the Merry Heart Club.\r\n\r\nMrs. Glasscock is preceded in death by her parents, James L. And Ethel McFaddin Epperson; brother, James L. Epperson, Jr., killed on Guam during World War II; former husband, Judge Thomas F. Glasscock, and daughter and husband, Abigail and Brent Gesch. She is survived by two sons, James L.E. Glasscock and Franklin Glasscock and wife Susan. Mary Jane is survived by a niece, Diana Henderson Lewis and husband Hardy, as well as many cousins and friends.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Edwards Co. Vol. Fire Dept., Edwards County EMS, or the Gilmer Memorial Library, all of which are located in Rocksprings, Texas 78880.\r\n\r\nScriptures, Prayers and Visitation at Grimes Funeral Home in Kerrville, Texas will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at 6:00PM. Graveside Service will be Tuesday morning May 24th at Rocksprings Cemetery at 10AM. Coffee and refreshments for family and friends will follow at the Historic Rocksprings Hotel.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.\r\n
