Mary Emily (Taylor) Bruce, 85, of Kerrville, TX passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2015. She was born in Flint, MI on May 4, 1930 to Robert and Marjorie Taylor, and after marrying the love of her life, Earl Bruce, in January 1953, relocated to Indiana where they raised 4 children.\r\n \r\nMary graduated from Flint High School, received an associate degree from Katherine Gibbs Business School, Boston, MA, and attended the University of Michigan where she met Earl. They raised their children in Marion, IN where she was a homemaker until her children were all in school. She then worked outside the home at the St. Regis Paper Co, the Marion License Branch and was also a partner in the family business McVicker's Marine and Marina on the Salamonie Reservoir. In Marion, she gave of her time to promote the arts, and was actively involved in a community Easter Pagaent production. She passed on her passion for the arts to her children by attending many concerts and events, and participating in the Pagaent for many years. She loved being involved in organizations she valued such as the Republican Party, The Delta Theta Tau Philanthropic Sorority and the Delta Gamma Fraternity. She spent many years as the Financial Advisor to the Delta Gamma House on the Indiana University Campus in Bloomington, IN. In Kerrville, TX where she resided the last 15 years, she enjoyed volunteering at KACC, the Hill Country Youth Ranch, and the thrift store that helps support it.\r\n \r\nMary loved her family, animals, nature, and was a blessing to everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. She is survived by her sons, Kevin Bruce and wife Jan, Gary Bruce and wife Susan, daughters, Linda Simmons and husband Bernie, and Sandra Adams. She was very proud of her 6 grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nThe family is asking that memorial donations be made in her name to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 67, Ingram, TX 78025 or online at www.youth-ranch.org.
