Mary Caroline (Rau) Brinning of Kerrville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2018 in her home in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Weatherford, OK to Caroline and Walter Rau on May 23, 1946. \r\n \r\nShe grew up in Big Spring, Texas and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1964. She lived in Iowa, California, New York, Minnesota, Washington and Harlingen, TX before finally moving to her beloved community of Kerrville, TX in 2006. She was a real estate agent and broker for over 30 years and wrote a weekly real estate column for the Harlingen newspaper. She obtained her minister's license from the First Church of the Nazarene in Harlingen, TX in 2002. She volunteered with numerous Christian organizations including the Christian Women's Job Corp of Kerrville, served as pianist at First Baptist Church in Ingram and the Church of the Nazarene. She also served as a mentor and substitute teacher at Ingram Elementary School. She was a member of the Southern Oaks and Impact churches in Kerrville, TX. She loved music. She sang in many choirs over the years and was an accomplished musician on the piano, accordion, guitar and violin. \r\n \r\nMary was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Brinning; her sister, Margaret (Rau) Wemken; and her parents, Walter and Caroline Rau.\r\n \r\nMary is survived by her daughter, Michelle Brinning of Portland, OR; brothers, Lee Rau and Sidney Rau; her sister, Floretta Parrish; grandsons, Noah Brinning and Caleb Brinning; and her aunt, Belle Milward.\r\n \r\nA celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday June 2, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX with Dr. Joe Taylor of Southern Oaks Church, of Kerrville, TX officiating.\r\n
