Mary Jo Reno Brandon, passed away in Kerrville, Texas on June 30, 2019. Her last days were surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 17, 1942 to parents, William E. Reno and Dorothy M. Bernhard.\r\n\r\nIn her younger years, her father was in the military. They lived in San Antonio, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana and Tokyo, Japan, eventually settling in Kerrville, Texas. She was a Tivy graduate, Class of 1960. \r\n\r\nShe married Bill A. Brandon on June 11, 1960. Her husband was in the Kerrville Police Department, where she also became employed by the City as Meter Clerk, then became a stay at home mother to her two small children. She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary with the Kerrville Fire Department. She was also a volunteer with the Hill Country District Junior Livestock show, then moving to Tierra Linda where her husband was the ranch manager. She did various jobs on the ranch to stay close to her home and her family. There were other moves to other ranches around Texas. They eventually moved back to the Kerrville area. When her husband went back into law enforcement, this time to the Kerr County Sheriff's Department, she worked in the District Clerk's office, then began working at the Camp Verde Store. Once again, they moved to Tierra Linda until she and her husband eventually retired in Kerrville South. Not one to stay idle, she soon was employed by Pampell's Antiques, which she really enjoyed and continued her employment when the owners started a new business, Wolfmueller's Books. She was very happy working in the bookstore until she finally retired.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Reno and Dorothy M. Saunders; her husband, Bill A. Brandon; and a brother, John A. Reno.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by daughters, Laura L. Bridges and husband Thomas E. Bridges Jr. and Maura K. Lange and husband Mackey Lange; grandson, James A. Bridges and Maria Rosenthal; brother, William Saunders and wife Cece; and many more loved ones and friends who will truly miss her.\r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Chaplain Susan Montoya. Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday, July 5, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Peterson Hospice.
