Mark Alan Sweat, age 53, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in a San Antonio hospital. He was born May 13, 1963 to Ray Oliver Sweat and Roxey Vee Head in Dallas, Texas and later moved to Hunt, Texas where he remained for 43 years.\r\n \r\nMark was preceded in death by his father; brother, Harold Sweat; and daughter, Vonda.\r\n \r\nMark is survived by his mother; sisters, Carol Sweat and Maria Griser (Rick); foster brother, Billy Williamson; sons, Eric and Craig Sweat; step-children, Taylor and Zach Plemens; grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Sweat; and 4 legged friends, Annie and Unstable Sable.\r\n \r\nMark was in the Cub Scouts where he enjoyed fishing and crafts. As he grew older, he became interested in trapping and plants. \r\n \r\nHe started several "Summer" businesses including Mark's Minnow Mart where he sained and sold minnows from the Guadalupe River.\r\n \r\nMark graduated from Ingram High School in 1982 after which he attended TSTI in Waco, Texas where he earned his welding license and started Sweat Welding.\r\n \r\nHe suffered a severe brain injury approximately 8 years ago. The doctors were surprised at his close to full recovery, calling him the "miracle patient."\r\n \r\nMark was a true dichotomy. He was a "mouthy" person, yet, if someone was in need, he would take action providing a place to stay, food, clothes, or money. One winter, he saw a homeless woman on the side of the road and bought her winter clothes and food. He was frequently seen at KPUB paying past due accounts of others in need.\r\n \r\nIf you were lucky enough to be called Mark's friend, his friendship and loyalty was life long.\r\n \r\nMark, you are loved and will be missed by many. May the angels carry you safely on your journey. \r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be Sunday, March 5, 2017, 2 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Chris Christopherson.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Assistance Ministries (C.A.M.), PO Box 291352, Kerrville, Texas, 78029; donations to be made in memory of Mark Alan Sweat to aid with electric utilities of families in need in the Ingram and Hunt area.\r\n
