Marjorie Lorraine McAteer was born Oct. 19, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN. She went to the arms of our dear Lord and Savior April 28, 2015 in Cibolo Creek Center in Boerne, TX\r\n \r\nMarjorie was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband of over 18 years, James R. McAteer. Also, preceded in death by her son-in-law, Al Whitaker. Marjorie is survived by her five children from a previous marriage and their spouses, Ellen Fender of Boerne TX, Mary K. Whitaker of Boerne TX, Jean C. Carlson & Ken R. Carlson of Boerne, TX, John Albers & Monica Albers of Wisconsin, James Albers & Linda Albers of Minnesota. Marjorie is also survived by many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nMarjorie was a loving mother, who after raising her five children, moved to California, then learning to drive a car, she bought a car and went to work for Pacific Bell. She worked for over 20 years and retired. At that time she moved to Boerne, TX. Marjorie bought a home and settled in making many friends at her church. She loved to plant and she read many books, and always stayed in touch with her friends in California. A short time ago she was awarded a Tribute of Recognition from Al-Anon for starting the group in Boerne, TX. She had been a supporter of this group for many years.\r\n \r\nMarjorie met James McAteer in 1993 and they married in 1995 at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, Boerne, TX. Together she and James traveled the world for 10 years. At that time illness stopped the travel, but they lived peacefully in their Kerrville home.\r\n \r\nThe memorial service was held at St. Mark Presbyterian Church by Pastor Michael Brundeen on May 3, 2015.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
