Marion Anne Hedges passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017. She was born on June 25, 1937, in Philadelphia and raised in Norristown, Pennsylvania, by her parents Leonard and Anne Rotz. \r\n\r\nAfter graduation, she attended nursing school but put those plans on hold to marry her high school sweetheart, Joseph T. Oliver. As an Air Force wife, she traveled the world and together they raised five children. \r\n\r\nMarion loved helping others and was active with the Red Cross, Head Start Program and later became a hospice nurse in Kerrville. She was extremely creative and taught sewing and even had a TV show in the 70s. She loved square dancing and clogging, and was active in local activities. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her husband, Frank Hedges; daughter, Margaret Pauley and grandson, Seth; son, Joe Oliver and wife, Tami and granddaughters, Melissa and Danielle and great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Amelia and Aubree; daughter, Kim Wentrcek and husband, Alan and grandson, Jacob and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Loki; granddaughters, Sarah and Amanda; daughter, Serena Oliver and granddaughter, Cherie; daughter, Joanne Oliver-Taggart and husband, Steve and granddaughter, Taylor and great-grandson, Tatum. \r\n\r\nShe attended and was an active member of Grace Bible Church, First United Methodist Church, Trinity Baptist Church and finally First Assembly of God Church. She leaves behind many friends in all of these organizations, as well as around Kerrville and the Hill Country. She was a wonderful mother and wife who will be missed.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org. \r\n\r\n
