Marion J. "Bud" Barber, age 81 of Kerrville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born July 21, 1934 in Plainview, TX to Neil Jones Barber and Mary Margaret (Ford) Barber. On September 11, 1965, he married Peggy Gunn in Natalia, TX.\r\n \r\nBud was a member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697 and a member of Living Tree Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Kerrville Noon Rotary Club where he was honored for getting the first Christmas lights at the courthouse and the Nativity scene on the courthouse lawn.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by wife, Peggy Gunn Barber of Kerrville; daughters, Cynthia Stevens of Kerrville, Tammy Ann Stevens and husband, Jimmy of Leakey, and Kimberlie Barber Mackey and husband, Herbie of Kerrville; sons, Jimmy Neil Barber and wife, Sylvia of Hurst, TX and Bobby Dean Barber and wife, Carol of Seagoville, TX; brother, Lester Barber of Sabinal, TX; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2016, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10 AM at Living Tree Baptist Church officiated by Brother Thomas Jeffers. Masonic graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, TX.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Robert Palmer, Michael Gray, Taylor Dawson, Matt Barber, Wesley Palmer, and Todd Barber.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JAM (Jesus And Me) at Living Tree Baptist Church or West Kerr County youth sports. \r\n
