Marie G. (Raffell) Allen, 76, passed away December 14, 2015, at her home in Kerrville, Texas. Born on February 7, 1939, in Manchester, England, she was the daughter of Alexander and Marie Raffell. Marie was educated in England. After graduation, she emigrated to the United States, residing in San Antonio with her daughter.\r\n \r\nMarie married Troy Allen in 1981 in Pipe Creek, Texas. She had careers in insurance and education before becoming a realtor in 1985, awarded a Million Dollar sales producer several times in her career. In 2005, Marie and Troy retired to the Hill Country, residing in Center Point and Kerrville.\r\n \r\nMarie was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Kim, and together, they shared many wonderful adventures. Being outside and enjoying the peace and sounds of nature were special to Marie. She cared for all animals, great and small. An avid gardener, she surrounded herself with flowers, gardens, and attracting and watching the birds frequenting her feeders.\r\n \r\nMarie was passionate about travel and together, she and Troy spent many special times in Alaska, Maine, Port Aransas and around Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana throughout their marriage. She loved meeting and learning about people from all walks of life and loved to host and entertain friends in her home.\r\n \r\nAccording to her wishes, cremation has taken place, and her remains will be shared with the rivers, mountains and oceans of Alaska, East Africa, England, Port Aransas, and the Texas Hill Country.\r\n \r\nLeft to honor her loving memory are her husband, Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and David Kane; granddaughters, Dawn and Dominique; grandson, Christopher; cousin, Louise Hunt in East Africa; Gino, her beloved cat; and her loving friends.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2016, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville followed by a Celebration of Life after the service.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory can be made to Freeman Fritts Animal Shelter in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to thank Jennifer Chapman of Peterson Hospice for her care of Marie.
