Maria Esquivel Ledezma of Kerrville, Texas passed away on October 9, 2015 in Hewitt, Texas. She was born in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to Felix and Juanita Esquivel on May 5, 1935. She was number 8 of 19 children born to Felix and Juanita Esquivel. She was married to Guadalupe Ledezma on October 6, 1951 in Muzquiz, Coahuila.\r\n\r\nMaria worked for Lazy Hills Guest Ranch for 27 years. During that time, she and Lupe raised 6 children and provided them with the life that she and Lupe envisioned for them. After retirement, she traveled extensively and visited her children who are veterans and served in all branches in the military.\r\n\r\nMaria had an amazing heart and a strong will that served her well and provided her children with the desire to excel in their respective careers. She was a great role model who wanted to make sure that her children knew the importance of focusing on goals and achieving these through hard work and perseverance. Her strong faith manifested itself by the way she conducted her life.\r\n\r\nMaria is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Ledezma and son Miguel Ledezma. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Ledezma Flores and husband Ismael Flores; Joe Ledezma and wife Lana Ledezma; Oscar Ledezma and wife Sarah Ledezma; Carlos Ledezma and wife Sheila Ledezma; Rose Ledezma Wilson and husband Tom Wilson. Sister Elva Esquivel Salazar and husband Raul Salazar of Denton, TX.\r\n\r\nMaria is survived by Grandchildren, Lupe Ledezma; Guillermo Flores of Omaha Nebraska; Cristobal Flores of Lees Summit, MO; Miguel Lopez of Round Rock, TX; Deanna Ledezma of Chicago, IL; Joe Ledezma of Kerrville, TX; Andrew Ledezma of San Diego, CA; Anthony Ledezma of Palmdale, CA; Amanda Ledezma and Kathleen Spurrier of Leawood, KS ; Lisa Wilson Woolery of Taos, NM and William Styles Wilson of Santa Fe, NM.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by 11 great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nRosary will take place Monday, October 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 t 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church. With burial following at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
