Marguerite Celeste Jones "Margie" Dietert, age 84 of The Divide, passed away December 9, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on December 19, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to William Henry "Bill" Jones and Beulah Belle Lucas Jones. She married William Edward "Bill" Dietert, Jr. on June 19, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas.\r\n \r\nMarguerite grew up in south Texas and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1949. She then attended Del Mar College and later graduated from Southwest Texas State University. It was while she was teaching school in Kerrville that she met and married Bill. \r\n \r\nMargie taught 1st grade at Rocksprings Elementary School for 27 years. She served as chairman of Rocksprings Parent Teachers Organization Steering Committee. "Mrs. Dietert" was a beloved teacher to many Rocksprings children over the years. She loved being a teacher and truly cared for each child she taught.\r\n \r\nShe was an avid gardener and was a charter member of the Rocksprings Garden Club. She adored taking care of her beautiful yard. She also enjoyed reading.\r\n \r\nMargie loved God, her family, friends and community. \r\n \r\nShe was many things to many people.\r\n \r\nShe is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Bill, she was his Sweetie Pie. Her parents Bill and Beulah Jones and her brother William Henry "Bubba" Jones, Jr, to them she was Sister and Marguerite.\r\n \r\nShe is survived her son Stephen William Dietert and wife Carolyn and daughter Marianne Dietert Hanley and husband Steve, to them she was Mom. And all of her grandchildren that she adored … she was Ma to Stephen Brady Dietert and Mendy Diane Dietert and Nanny to Lindsey Christine Price and Laura Justine Price. She was Aunt Marguerite to 3 nephews, Gerald and wife Jessica Jones, Luis and wife Elsa Jones and Martin and wife Sara Jones and family.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00, funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by burial at Dietert Ranch at approximately noon.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and aids of wing 3 at Edgewater Care Center for their kindness and good care. Also, a heartfelt thank you for the care and guidance from the wonderful staff at Peterson Hospice. A special thank you to Diane with hospice for helping make her last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Edwards County Emergency Medical Service, Rocksprings, Texas, Divide Fire Department, Mountain Home, Texas or the charity of one's choice.\r\n \r\n
