Marguerite Mae Allen was born on August 22, 1933 in St. Vrain, New Mexico to Sykes Bell and Margaret May "Maggie" Bates Gleaton and went to her eternal home on December 4th, 2018. \r\n\r\nHer early school years were spent in St. Vrain, New Mexico on her father's orchard and cattle farm. The family later moved to Ft. Sumner, New Mexico where she graduated from Ft. Sumner High School. She later moved to Roswell, NM to work for the telephone company where she met and married the love of her life, Alvin W. Allen Sr. who was recently honorably discharged from the Air Force after the Korean conflict. They were married on July 29th, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico. They later moved to Texas and started their family. \r\n\r\nWhile also being a beloved devoted mother, she was also a member of the Eastern Star, a life member of the D.A.V., as well as V.F.W. Auxiliary. \r\n\r\nShe was extremely dedicated to furthering her education and attended many higher learning institutions from Roswell, New Mexico, to Bethioua, Algeria, where she studied accounting during her husband's work deployment. Her dynamic personality and professionalism allowed her to obtain many different jobs utilizing her skills. Her wide range of knowledge allowed her to own and operate Groves Beauty Salon, manage and co-own Groves Service Center, and manage a large apartment complex in Groves, where she called home for nearly thirty years and raised her three beautiful children. \r\n\r\nIn 1987, she and Alvin moved to Kerrville, Texas and enjoyed life in the Hill Country. Alvin passed in 2001, and Mom stayed in Kerrville until 2012 when, at that time, she relocated to Cedar Park, Texas to be closer to her daughter, Donna. She moved into a seniors-only complex where she gained many new friends and was known on occasion to join a poker game or two. In recent months her health deteriorated, and she moved in with her daughter and son in law, Donna and Frank Stasiunas.\r\n\r\nThis precious angel on earth had a heart full of gold and was so kind and sweet spirited to all who made her an acquaintance. Along with everything said, all that knew Margie knew that she could turn dirt to diamonds. She was a one-of-a kind lady who truly had a heart full of gold that was embodied by a kind, sweet, loving spirit.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alvin W. Allen Sr., grandson Ryan Michael Allen, grandson baby Gabriel, sisters Juanita Thompson of Clovis, NM, Bernice Laney of Chico, CA, and Gloria Chandler of Portales, NM; brothers John Benton (Toots) Gleaton and Sykes Bell Gleaton Jr. (B)\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her sons A.W. Allen Jr. and Gina of Granbury, Texas, Ricky and Cindy Allen of Nederland, daughter Donna and Frank Stasiunas of Leander, TX. Grandchildren Casey and Tyre Greenwood of Cedar Hill, TX, Clay and Angela Allen of North Richland Hills, TX, Mathew Allen of Nederland, TX, Blake and Amber Stasiunas of Georgetown, TX, Great Grandchildren Morgan Kochan, James Hearne, Abigail Allen and Noah Alvin Allen.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be begin at 9 AM with funeral service to follow at 11 AM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera officiated by Pastor Fred King.
