Marcia Ahn Bower, age 95, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in San Antonio. Mrs Bower had been a long time resident of Bandera County. She was born July 4, 1921 in Stanton, Nebraska and received her formal education at the University of Wyoming. On January 3, 1942, Marcia and Count Leon Bower were united in marriage. Both were part of the Greatest Generation. \r\n\r\nShe lived her faith according to the two great commandments and through her love of others. Marcia served God as a faithful member of Medina United Methodist Church, was devoted to teaching Sunday school, received the Christian Discipleship award and was active on the Walk to Emmaus. She served the surrounding area as Secretary of the Bandera County Christian Fellowship, President of United Methodist Women, member of the Rose Garden Club of Medina and also volunteered at the Silver Sage, as well as serving on the Medina School Board in the 1970's. \r\n\r\nMrs. Bower was preceded in death by her husband Count. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her son, Count Bower, Jr. and his wife Susan Dalterio; twin daughter and son, Abby Dischinger and husband Mark and Gilbert Bower and wife Lynn; five grandchildren, Abigail and Gabriel Bower and Lee, Chris and Travis Bower; 3 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Karsten and Henry Bower. \r\n\r\nMarcia's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mystic Park for the quality of care and support they gave to Marcia. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Medina United Methodist Church in Medina, Texas with interment to follow at Oak Rest Cemetery. \r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Lee Bower, Chris Bower, Travis Bower, Robert Day, Rusty Wilson and Beau Szalwinski. \r\n\r\nHonorary Pallbearers will be Jim Wilson and Charlie Klein. \r\n\r\nThose who desire may make memorial gifts to Medina United Methodist Church in honor of Marcia.
