Mabel Faltin Haufler, 85, of Kerrville passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at a local hospital. She was born in Comfort, Texas to Albert and Bella Allerkamp Faltin on May 6, 1932. She married her high school sweetheart, Maurice, on July 30, 1953 at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Comfort. They were married for more than 64 years.\r\n \r\nMabel graduated from Comfort High School in 1949 and received her undergraduate degree in home economics from Texas Women's University in Denton. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church for 58 years where she was on the altar guild, the church vestry, and was a founding member of the Cottage Shop. She was also a member of the Comfort Literary Social Club.\r\n \r\nMabel's greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She dedicated her life to loving and taking care of her family. Omie liked to sew, quilt, and cook for others. She acknowledged every birthday, holiday, and family accomplishment by sending gifts and cards; she showed support to her children and grandchildren by attending baptisms, concerts, football games, soccer games, graduations, and weddings. She was our biggest fan. Cherished memories were made at her holiday get-togethers. No one ever left her house hungry. She was a kind, thoughtful, and strong lady. Her faith was unwavering and she will be greatly missed.\r\n \r\nMabel was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; her daughter, Cindy Kohls; her parents; and one brother, Albert Faltin, Jr.\r\n \r\nMabel is survived by her son, Mark Haufler; her daughter, Susan Martin (Mike); two brothers, Eugene Faltin and August Faltin; granddaughters, Megan Haufler, Maria Kohls, Melissa Kohls, Lauren Patel (Hiren), Lisa Worthing (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Anaya Patel and Ezra and Sadie Worthing. She is also survived by cousins and her nieces and nephew, Laura Haufler, Amy Haufler, and Chris Haufler.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville with the Reverend Bert Baetz officiating. The family will greet family and friends at a reception after the service at Tucker Hall. A private family burial will take place later in Comfort.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter's School, the Hill Country Youth Orchestras, or the charity of your choice.\r\n
