m. Loys Raymer, 91, of Kerrville, peacefully passed away during an afternoon nap on May 24, 2015. She was born in Tulia, Texas to Wilbur J. "the Guv" and Olive Brooks Carver on January 17, 1924.\r\n\r\nA lifelong artist, she created and sold hundreds of oil paintings encompassing three generations of portraits as well as landscapes, still life, and abstracts. She was honored by the Texas State Legislature for her Presidential portrait series which was commissioned by the Odessa Public Library and copies of the portraits are held at The Smithsonian. She also illustrated a long list of children's books, novels, and books of poetry. She loved Jesus, her family, her friends, her art, the Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, and a good game of bridge.\r\n\r\nm. Loys is survived by her brother Joe Carver of Florida and her four children: Clyda Haney of Spring Branch, TX; Myers Raymer of Hickory Creek, TX; Christopher Raymer of Ingram, TX; and Lisa Raymer of Portland, OR. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nShe was a longtime active member of Trinity Baptist Church and her memorial service will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation (www.macular.org) or to Trinity Baptist Church.
