Luz Gomez Garcia

Our beloved mother, Luz Gomez Garcia, 92 years old, joined the love of her life in heaven on February 15th, 2025. She was born in Biry, Texas to Domingo & Juana Gomez on May 29th, 1932. Luz married Catarino Garcia on August 22, 1949, in Sinton Texas.

Luz was not only a devoted mother, but also a loving grandmother to all her grandkids. Always greeted her kids with a cup of coffee and her grandkids with a fresh homemade tortilla. She always said she loved her kids, but that her grandkids were a different kind of love. 

Luz is preceded in death by her husband Catarino Garcia, Daughter Rosalinda Garcia, parents Domingo & Juana Gomez, Sister Santos Carrasco, Brothers Beto Gomez, Juan Guajardo and Casimiro Guajardo. Grandchildren David Garcia, Johnny De Leon and Mary Garcia. Great-Grandchildren Ethon Hogan and Izaac Barrera.

Luz Garcia is survived by her 10 children, Isabel Gonzales (Miguel), Catarino Garcia Jr. (Darlene), Domingo Garcia (Lilly), Jesse Garcia, Irma Garza (Jose),Juan Garcia, Raul Garcia, Estella Andrade (John), Pete Garcia Sr., Jason Garcia(Maria). 28 Grandchildren, numerous great-grandkids and numerous great-great-grandkids who will continue to love and adore her. Sisters Rosa Gonzales & Lupe Martinez and Brother Ramon Guajardo

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:00pm-9:00pm with the rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Bandera Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21,2025 beginning at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Bandera Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Catarino Garcia Jr., Domingo Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Juan Garcia, Raul Garcia, Pete Garcia Sr., Jason Garcia.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Garcia Jr., Dimitri Garcia and Dominic Garcia.

The Garcia Family would like to thank the staff at Bandera Nursing and Rehabilitation for their kindness, loving care and attention given to our mother. We are forever grateful.
