Lupe Garcia, 71 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in San Antonio. He was born on December 12, 1946 in Biry, Texas to Victor Garcia and Olegaria Ramirez. On March 18, 1966, he married Yolanda Resendez in Hondo, Texas. \r\n \r\nLupe has always been a hard working man; even on his days off, he would work. His hobbies were working on cars, fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his family.\r\n \r\nLupe was employed at Edmund Jenschke Inc. for 34 years as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He retired in 2015 but continued working.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Yolanda Garcia; three sons and three daughters, Rudy, Victor, Jimmy (Norma), Melinda (Blas), Crystal (Andre) and Vicky (Johnny); 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his mother, Olegaria Ramirez; sisters, Gloria Perez, Herlinda Flores, Dominga Segura and Diana Deleon; and brother, Oscar Garcia.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Victor Garcia; grandson, D'Andre Espinoza; and mother-in-law, Alifonsa Trinidad.\r\n \r\nLupe's words were that he was a "very rich man"; not rich with money but rich with family.\r\n\r\nRosary will be held at 6 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Deacon Sonny Kaufhold officiating.\r\n \r\nMass will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father David Wagner as celebrant. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Ed Simmons, John Donaldson, Larry Moore, Austin Durst, Robert Rosales and Alfred Davila. Joe Ed Jenschke will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.\r\n \r\nThe Garcia Family is truly grateful for the level of care that was provided from Peterson Regional Medical Center Staff, Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and Dr. Rebecca Barrington and Staff. Also, Bernice Jenschke and Joe Ed Jenschke, your caring and compassionate ways are true reflections of God's love in your hearts. Thank you for always taking care of our Dad.\r\n \r\n
