Luetta Kemp

Mrs. Luetta Kilpatrick Kemp, 79 of Kerrville, TX, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 11, 1937 in Merced, CA to Bonnie and Myrtle Kilpatrick. On September 2, 1960, she married Rowland Russell Kemp in Abilene, TX.\r\n \r\nMrs. Kemp went to Chowchilla High School and graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1960. She was an elementary school teacher in Jal, NM and Kerrville ISD for 30 years.\r\n \r\nShe was a member of the Ladies Bible Class at Riverside Church of Christ in Kerrville, was a member of the Master Gardener Club, and taught parenting classes in California. She was instrumental in establishing Outdoor Education in Kerrville ISD. \r\n \r\nMrs. Kemp loved the Lord, her grandchildren and gardening.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Myrtle Kilpatrick; her brother, Edwin Kilpatrick; and her sister, Bonna Dea Kilpatrick.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include husband, Rowland Russell Kemp of Kerrville; children, Bonna Evelyn Odle and husband, Landon Odle of Missouri City, TX and Russell Dell Kemp and wife, Kristen Kemp of Kerrville; sister, Erlene Phillips of California; grandchildren, Jonathan Kemp, Samantha Kemp and Kemp Odle; and various cousins, nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held 5-7 PM, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held 10 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Riverside Church of Christ in Kerrville officiated by Jacob Hawk. Luncheon will follow the service. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville. \r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Landon Odle, Kemp Odle, Russell Kemp, Jonathan Kemp, Scott Bolton, and Gene Bosse.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Creede Church of Christ, 654 Airport Rd., Creede, CO 81130, (719) 658-2300 or Hope for Haiti's Children, P.O.
