Ludie "Lou" Menotti passed away peacefully at home in Pipe Creek, Texas, on April 7, 2015, after a brief illness.\r\n\r\nLou was born in Rains County, Texas on January 3, 1936, to Annie and Homer Duvall. Lou had 5 siblings; brothers, Buddy, Eulan and Bobby: sisters, Ruth (Battastoni) and Josie (Barkovich).\r\n\r\nOn June 19, 1954, Lou married he beloved husband, Anthony Raymond "King" Menotti, in Galveston County, Texas. Lou and King had three beloved sons, Mark, Steve and Mac. Over the years, with King's employment with Sears & Roebuck, Lou and King lived in Dickson, Alvin, Lake Jackson, Dallas, Chicago, IL and Canyon Lake, TX. Although primarily a homemaker for much of her life in Dallas, Lou also worked as a booking agent for a modeling agency specializing in "big and beautiful" women, and in Bandera, at Bandera Downs Racetrack.\r\n\r\nAfter King's retirement, Lou and King moved to Pipe Creek and established The Feed Barn. With their sons, Steve and Mac. At The Feed Barn they catered to likeminded horse-lovers of Bandera County. With the sudden death of their son Steve in 2010 and King's deteriorating health, Mac has continued operation of the store.\r\n\r\nLou was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by her husband, King, of Bandera: sons, (and their life partners), Mac and Sissi of Pipe Creek, TX., Mark and Donald of Portland, OR.: granddaughter, Stepnanie Menotti (Steve's daughter), of Burlington, VT, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends across the country.\r\n\r\nA Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 11 AM, April 11, 2015, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, with Mr. Martin Smith officiating.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests that you contribute to the animal assistance charity of your choice\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
