Lucy Golla

Lucy Mary (Moczygemba) Golla, born December 10, 1941, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was called by her heavenly Father to be with him on December 9, 2016. Lucy had an unwavering love and trust in Jesus and an unfailing devotion to her family. These values are the priceless gifts Lucy gracefully imparted to her children. She passed away in her home in the presence of her loved ones.\r\n \r\nAfter a valiant nine year battle with cancer, she was reunited with her parents, brothers and sister, one day before her 75th birthday. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanik and Mary Moczygemba; two brothers, Alphonse and Flavian Moczygemba; and sister, Florence Kowalik.\r\n \r\nLucy's years after her cancer diagnosis were a testament to her strength - during that time she welcomed four more of her seven grandchildren into the family, and spent as much time as possible with them and her friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joe E. Golla and four children: Keven Joseph, Dwayne Edwin, Jeffery Anton, and Jonell Marie Golla. She always said her best therapy was her grandchildren: Alena, Grey, Avery, Elias, Brynn, Liam, and Archer. She is also survived by siblings, Matt Moczygemba, Pelagius Moczygemba and Celeste Lockwood. \r\n \r\nRosary will be held 6 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nMemorial mass will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Notre Dame Catholic Church.\r\n \r\nHer family wants to express their deepest gratitude to the loving and diligent staff of Peterson Hospice; especially the care of nurse Diane Scull, RN.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, please honor Lucy by donating to the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.\r\n
