Lucille Ella (Kneese) Ottmers, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Kerrville on Friday, March 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Fredericksburg, TX to Rufus and Ella (Kelch) Kneese on February 20, 1928 and was second youngest of five children\r\n \r\nOn June 26, 1948, she married Roy Robert Ottmers. Together, they had four sons. In early 1956, they moved to San Antonio. With frequent visits to family in the Hill Country, they fell for the love, warmth and small town feel of Kerrville and moved in time for the oldest son to start school.\r\n \r\nIn the early sixties, she began working for H.E.B. and then worked as a baker for K.I.S.D. until the age of 76 and retired from both. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, scrapbooking, cooking, baking, holiday gatherings, time with her great grandchildren and her four legged companion, Tonto. Her playful spirit and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all.\r\n \r\nLeft to honor Lucille and remember her love are her two children, Gary Ottmers and wife, Misti of Kerrville and Rodney Ottmers of San Antonio; four grandchildren; Blakely Ottmers of Bossier City, LA, Markus Ottmers and wife, Katherine of Kerrville, Bobby, Jr. Of Pleasanton, TX, Jordan Ottmers of Waco; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Gohmert of Bossier City, William Gohmert of Kerrville and Roy O'Dell of Bossier City.\r\n \r\nLucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Robert Ottmers and two loving sons, Lester and Bobby Ottmers, all of Kerrville; three brothers, Wilbert, Elgin & Rudy and one sister, Milda Honig.\r\n \r\nFuneral services for Lucille will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with Pastor Don Rauhut & Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice.\r\n
