Lorenzo R. Lopez, age 71 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his residence.\r\n \r\nHe was born on November 5, 1945 in Kerrville, Texas to Julian Sr. and Antonia Lopez. Lorenzo was the 8th out of 10 children, with the oldest being his only sister. He married Isabel Pruneda, daughter of Silberia Pruneda, now deceased and her father Antonio Pruneda who later remarried Maria Rangel.\r\n \r\nLorenzo and Isabel were married 52 years and have 2 sons, Lorenzo Jr. (wife Mary Ann) and Alfonso (wife Christy). They have 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Julian Jr., Alfredo, Adolfo Sr., Louis Sr., and Felipe Lopez. He is survived by Isabel; Lorenzo Jr., and Alfonso; brothers, Ignacia, Antonio, Ramon; sister, Sista Davila; along with numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws.\r\n \r\nLorenzo, a man of many trades, started in construction with his brother's business. His other trades included working at Mooney Aircraft, James Avery Craftsman, V.A. Hospital and State Hospital, until his retirement with the City of Kerrville.\r\n \r\nLorenzo was a long time musician with their band the "Latin Sounds". He accompanied bands such as Alfonso Ramos, Isidro Lopez, Sunny Ozuna, Robert Pulido and even Selena y Los Dinos. He was co-owner of the Lopez Club for 30 years with his brothers, Ramon and Adolfo.\r\n \r\nLorenzo was known for being the family jokester, having nicknames for almost all the kids. He loved family get-togethers, music and most of all life. There was never a dull moment when Lorenzo was around. He was a wonderful brother to his big sister, always enjoying coffee at her house with brothers and whoever dropped by.\r\n \r\nHe was very faithful to God and Church. His weekly visits to the Adoration were the most important times in his life. He was in Adoration for years. In his years as a youth, he served mass as an altar boy in the old Guadalupe Church.\r\n \r\nLorenzo will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, great Dad, playful grandfather and loving family member.\r\n\r\nRecitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 7 PM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father David Wagner as celebrant. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.\r\n
