Lola Akers

Lola Mae Akers, age 83 of Kerrville, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 in a local care center. She was born December 14, 1932 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Carrie and Mary Jane (Foley) Pope. \r\n \r\nIn Odessa, Lola ran a kitchen for a nursing home. She loved to fish and went elk hunting every year. \r\n \r\nLola was a lady of faith and member of Sunrise Baptist Church. Her last words were, "God is in control and He will take care of it."\r\n \r\nShe is survived by two nieces, Pennie DeMoss (Jimmy) of Kerrville and Beverly Mierzejewski (Stan) of Mound, Minnesota.\r\n \r\nNo services will be held.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peterson Hospice.\r\n
