Linda Sue Herring recently of Kerrville passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 in her Texas Hill Country home. Linda was born on October 3, 1949 to Albert Louis Smith and Betty Lou Byrd Smith of Winnie, Texas. Linda was married to William David Herring II on May 8, 1981 in Edinburg, Texas. Linda was a graduate of the Lake Charles, Louisiana, High School and was awarded a Bachelor Degree by Pan American University in Edinburg. Linda was proud of her membership in the Capt. Charles Schreiner Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy as well as her membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Always a proud Texan, Linda blessed communities in Oklahoma, Ohio, North Carolina and Connecticut. While residing in Columbus, Ohio, Linda volunteered as a passionate Interpreter/Reenactor at the Ohio Village, a living history museum. As the widow Victoria Burton, Linda would guide visitors and guests to a first-hand view of life in Ohio during the American Civil War. Linda is survived by her husband David and son William, his partner Luisa and their children Merrilyn, Kelly, Jeffrey, Victoria, Madison and Makenzie; and brothers Ronnie and Stephen. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Sonia Dawn Fluitt. A graveside service will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery on Saturday, June 19 at 11:00 AM. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the team at Peterson Hospice and Home Health for their care and comfort. In addition to flowers a monetary donation to the American Cancer Society in Linda's honor would be appropriate and appreciated.
