With family at her side, Lila Lee Sprott, 93, passed away peacefully early January 26, 2019 in San Marcos, Texas. She was born December 6, 1925 in Llano County, Texas to Leonard Clint and Mary Margaret "Mamie" Reagor. \r\n\r\nLila married LeRoy Sprott in Uvalde, Texas on October 2, 1942 shortly before he was inducted into the US Army. Lila soon followed him to Paris, Texas where LeRoy was training. While there, they had many happy adventures together before he was deployed to Germany. Following his return from the war in February 1946, they lived 50 wonderful years in Bandera until LeRoy's death in January 1993. She later lived in San Angelo for eighteen years before relocating to San Marcos in December 2017. \r\n\r\nLeRoy and Lila raised four sons in Bandera, their backyard often overrun with neighborhood boys playing and having fun. Lila was the consummate homemaker who somehow managed to feed a family of six on a tight budget, keep her home spotless and clean clothes on her busy boys. She often read to them and instilled her love of reading and learning in her sons. Whenever they left the house, she would send them off with a kiss on the cheek and a reminder, "Be nice," - something they never forgot. \r\n\r\nLila enjoyed cooking and serving meals at the Bandera First UMC, helping with school parties, working in the concession stand during her sons' games, volunteering at the Silver Sage Corral Senior Center, being a good neighbor and friend. Following her move there, she always enjoyed the activities at San Angelo's Sierra Vista UMC. She loved her family deeply and was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. \r\n\r\nPreceding Lila in death were her parents, in-laws Harry and Maude Sprott, and her two brothers, Verlon Reagor, Sr. and Hollis Reagor.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her sons: Royce Sprott (Joyce) of San Angelo, Rodney Sprott (Marcy) of Austin, Rick Sprott (Angela) of Nixon and Roger Sprott (Barbara) of San Marcos; grandchildren Robin Graves (Jared) of Miles, Jennifer Miller (Lyle) of Floresville, Ryan Sprott (Erin) of San Antonio, Michael Sprott (Suzanne) of Round Rock, Michelle Hicks(Maurice) of Liberty Hill, Jason Sprott (Rachel) of Pullman, WA, Jamie MacWilliams of Austin, Jacob Sprott of San Antonio, Jarod Sprott of Austin, Samantha Sprott of New Braunfels, Nicole Sprott of Kuwait, US Army, Melissa Barron (Stephen) of Pleasanton and Luke Gretchen of Midland; and 13 great grandchildren. Lila's sisters, Joyce Davidson of Big Spring, and Linda Carta of Llano, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. \r\n\r\nThe family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale San Marcos South and Brookdale Hospice for their loving care and many kindnesses. Memorials in Lila's honor may be given to the Bandera First UMC Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice. \r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. Graveside services for Lila are planned for 11AM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Bandera Public Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome. \r\n\r\n
